I’m very happy to have author Sarai Henderson on the website today and am excited to promote her brand new (and super exciting) novel, Hunter. Sarai was gracious enough to provide and interview and her Hunter playlist, and will be featuring Amber Sky on her blog, Confessions of an Ex-Ballerina. So why don’t we start by looking at a truly gorgeous cover?
Sixteen-year-old Hunter belongs to the Telepathic Alliance for the Latent or Newly manifested, otherwise known as Talon, a bounty hunter community known for their ruthless tactics. Her latest mission in San Diego was supposed to be a piece of cake, but when the job takes a treacherous and deadly turn, not even her telepathic abilities could have warned her of the dangers lurking around the corner.
There is only one place for Hunter to go, and that is straight into the hands of the government and their Psychic Intelligence Team, but even the “Normal” world isn’t safe. With each passing hour throwing her deeper into the game of life and death, Hunter must decide who to trust before this mission becomes her last.

How did you come up with the concept for Hunter?
Killjoys had just come out on SyFy and it got my mind thinking. It would be fun to write about bounty hunters, but of course they couldn’t be normal bounty hunters. Vampires and Werewolves were taken, so naturally, the next best thing was Telepaths.
Are you planning more books for these characters or is this a standalone?
I am in the process right now of writing a sequel. Its in the first draft stage but I’m pretty sure I’m going to call it Seeker.
What is your favorite part of the world you created for Hunter?
There is so much I love in this book, but the one thing that would have to be my favorite would be the ship they all live on, Big Red. Its a whole city of telepaths that has so much depth and unexplored potential. I can’t wait to get more into it in the next book.
Who is your favorite character and why?
I think everyone who reads Hunter will agree with me that Seeker is awesome. He’s caring but has bad boy tendencies. He trully is out to save the world and I think that’s what people love about him. I know that’s what I love about him.
What were the best of writing Hunter? What were the biggest challenges?
My favorite part of writing Hunter was creating the characters. I got to delve into another world, become the characters for a while and really feel what it was like to be Hunter. My biggest challenge with Hunter was finding the time to write. I’m a mother of three boys with a full time job, there isn’t much time for anything else. Hunter came together on my lunch break, one hour at a time.
Which actors would you choose to play Hunter and Seeker?
I’ve imagined Emma Stone as Hunter and Sebastian Stan as Seeker.
Tell us a little bit about your writing process.
I’m not much of a planner. Everything just comes out during the first draft and all the kinks get worked out in the drafts to come. It works for me.
Are you working on a new story right now? If so, can you tell us about it?
I’m working on two. Seeker of course, and putting the finishing touches on an epic fantasy that I’ll be self-publishing this fall.
What are your favorite genres to read, and what are you reading now?
I love to read fantasy (Any kind) and paranormal of course. Right now I’m reading Robert Jordan The Dragon Reborn, The Rweind Files by Claire WIllett and The Reader by M.K. Harkins.
